The Advanced Concepts & Technologies Group develops technology to protect land and sea assets from air and missile threats, which operate in a rapidly evolving complex Electronic Warfare (EW) environment. The group’s research and development activities span a wide spectrum including concept development, advanced algorithms development, prototyping, experimental field-testing, and analysis of systems and data. Of particular interest to the group is the development of: software-reconfigurable systems and prototypes, advanced signal processing algorithms, resource coordination techniques for enhanced battle management, and artificial intelligence to enable the development of next generation countermeasures, sensors, and enhanced human-machine teaming for fleet defense. Due to the wide-ranging nature of research, this dynamic group is comprised of a diverse team of scientists and engineers with expertise in physics, mathematics, computer science, and various engineering backgrounds. The group values inclusiveness, fosters mentoring at all levels, and promotes critical and innovative thinking to address the most challenging DoD problems.

 

Job Description

 

The Advanced Concepts and Technologies Group is looking for an entry level candidate who can provide support across a variety of projects including research in system-of-systems resource management and data fusion, and AI-driven decision aids to counter air and missile defense threats. The candidate will support advanced algorithm development leveraging state-of-the-art machine learning and optimization techniques. The candidate will work with a diverse and experienced team to develop new processing techniques for both existing fielded and upcoming systems to support DoD missions. This position expected to consist of both onsite and remote work.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics or similar

Have completed a subset of the following coursework:  Algorithm development, machine Learning, optimization, probability and statistics, control systems, robotics

Desired Skills:

Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, Julia, and/or C/C++

Strong oral and written communication skills
